Types of Physicians and Their Duties
There are numerous types of physicians. General practitioners treat a variety of ailments , provide preventative care, and diagnose conditions. Some physicians specialize in specific medical fields. Some physicians, such as neurologists and dermatologists, specialize in particular diseases. Others, such as oncologists who treat cancer, rheumatologists who treat musculoskeletal conditions and autoimmune illnesses, and pediatricians, specialize in a specific field of medicine. Some perform surgery as well. Neonatologists specialize in the medical care of newborns and treating severely ill and healthy infants.
